Memory Price Pressure: How It Can Affect BOM Sourcing

AI server demand is reshaping DRAM and NAND supply allocation. Buyers should review memory-related BOM lines earlier and confirm quotation validity windows.

Memory Price Pressure: How It Can Affect BOM Sourcing

Memory devices are increasingly connected to broader component sourcing risk. When DRAM and NAND suppliers prioritize server, HBM and enterprise storage applications, capacity for consumer, industrial and smaller-volume applications can become tighter or more expensive.

TrendForce has reported strong upward pressure on DRAM and NAND contract prices in early 2026 as server and AI demand absorbs more supply. For purchasing teams, this means memory-linked BOM lines should not be treated as routine line items.

The practical issue is quotation validity. If prices move quickly, a quotation that looks acceptable today may no longer be valid after several days. Buyers should clarify target price, required date, acceptable brand, package requirements and whether alternatives can be considered.

JZP Components recommends separating critical memory parts from less sensitive BOM items, checking multiple supplier channels and confirming whether the order is prototype, repair, maintenance or production-related. This helps prioritize the sourcing workflow and reduce unnecessary delays.

For BOM inquiries, send part number, quantity, target price, preferred brand/package and destination country. These details allow faster RFQ handling and more accurate supply coordination.
